Privacy Policy

Last Updated: Nov 9, 2015

AMC Security (AMC) is committed to protecting your privacy all the times. The purpose of this privacy policy is to provide you with the specific manner in what we collect, use and share information when you visit our websites and/or use our products and services.

Please read the Online Privacy Statement below to know about particular information we may collect.

We are committed to only collecting the information necessary to provide and improve AMC's services. When we do collect your information, we store it and associate it with your account unless otherwise noted. We take your privacy very seriously and will only use and disclose this information under the terms described in this Privacy Policy.

If you have any questions about this Policy, please feel free to contact us.

What Information We Collect

1       Registration Information

In order to use AMC and have access to all of its functions, you will need to create a personal account, which requires you to provide us with your email address (which will be your user name) and a password. We will only process and use this information in order to provide you with My AMC's services, unless you expressly opt in to a processing or use for other purposes (for example to receive useful news on AMC Lab products and services via email).

2          Account Settings and Purchases

You may review, update or correct your account data, password and preferences or even delete your account any time using AMC's "Account Manager" function.

Our web shop provider gives us the information about expiration date of your bank card and the last 4 symbols of your bank card number. However, we will have no access to other data of your credit card stored by our web shop provider. The linkage to your account will only be established technically by an internal User ID and password combination. These credentials will not grant us access to your bank card or other personal data stored by our web shop provider. The internal User ID is used for triggering orders from you made through the web shop.

3          Device Information

After registration, you will be able to manage all of your devices you secure using AMC Security. You can for example secure lost or stolen devices. To do that, a link between your account and the devices you connect will necessarily be established. This will of course only be used for the purpose of providing you with "Device's" managing services, unless you expressly opt in to a use for other purposes.

4          Licenses

You can manage all of your AMC licenses using AMC's "Enter Code" function by adding your valid activation code(s) for each product and connect it to the device it is used on.

5          Support

If you request support from our Tech Support or Virus Lab team using AMC's support services, we will ask you for information needed to enable us to provide you with such support, such as your registration/ license number, email address, and information about the product your problem relates to, software and the nature of the problem you are experiencing.

How We Use the Information We Collect

We use your personal information to provide you with a better service, improve the quality of our products and services, and promote our services. For example:

1.     Security and Anti-Virus

AMC protects your device from malware and spyware. They scan files and applications after you download and activate AMC and as new applications are installed or accessed to detect any threats to you and your mobile device. They also automatically scan your entire device periodically, and regularly update your threat definitions. In order to perform these functions, we need to collect information about the applications and files present on your device, the results of any scans performed by our services, and actions you take as a result of scanning. This may include downloading a copy of part or entire copies of application files on your device if we encounter an application that we have not previously analyzed.

2.     Backup

AMC Backup securely stores copies of data that you choose to back up from your phone.

3.     Anti-theft

AMC helps you find and secure your phone if it is lost or stolen. You can locate your phone by sending SMS, activate a loud siren even if your volume is muted so that you can find a phone lost nearby, wipe your phone, or lock your phone.

AMC's Anti-Theft Alarm feature help you figure out where your device might be in the event that your device is lost or stolen. If Anti-Theft is activated, the application monitors below device behaviors to trigger user alerts, which you can turn on or off at any time: (i) Incorrect password entries on your device; (ii) Removal or change of SIM cards; (iii) Enablement of airplane mode; (iv) Disablement of AMC device administrator capabilities (via device settings or through the mobile application); (v) Powering down the device (not through a battery event).

4.     Web Security

Web Security is a feature available when using the Android default browser or the Chrome browser. Web Security identifies and warns you of unsafe websites so that you can choose to avoid visiting them.

What types of information Web Security collects:

To provide the Web Security service, we may transmit the URLs you visit on your phone to an AMC-provided or third-party service to determine if those URLs are unsafe (e.g., if the URLs contain phishing attacks, malwares, or exploits). If a URL you visit is determined to be unsafe, we store a record of the unsafe URL.

How the information that Web Security collects is used:

We use the record of unsafe URLs you visit to provide you with notice that you attempted to reach an unsafe site and to improve our product. If you do not want us to record the unsafe URLs you visit, you may turn Web Security off; all other AMC features will continue to function.

How We Protect the Information We Collect

AMC is committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We has implemented a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. These measures include:

1.      Storage of Your Information

We store the personal information you provide on computer systems with limited access, which are located in controlled facilities.

2.      Technology safeguards

When we transmit highly confidential information (such as a password) over the Internet, we protect it through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layers (SSL) protocol.

No one can guarantee, and we do not guarantee, that your personal information is completely secure at all times. You are also responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information to protect it against unauthorized access or use. If a password is used to help protect your accounts and personal information, it is your responsibility to keep your password confidential. Do not share this information with anyone. If you are sharing a device with anyone you should always choose to log out before leaving a site or service to protect access to your information from subsequent users.

How We Share Your Information

Personal data is used solely for providing the requested service unless you've given your consent to receive any type of marketing information described above. Please be advised that we may disclose your personal information if legally required to do so by government agencies, judicial courts or law enforcement bodies, or to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop activity we consider to be illegal.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We will occasionally update this privacy statement to reflect changes in our services and customer feedback. When we post changes to this Statement, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this statement. If there are material changes to this statement or in how AMC will use your personal information, we will notify you either by prominently posting a notice of such changes prior to implementing the change or by directly sending you a notification. We encourage you to periodically review this statement to be informed of how AMC is protecting your information.
